Why I Built Assistedly.ai

Choosing assisted living for a parent is one of the most important—and overwhelming—decisions a family will ever make.

Most people only do this once.

And when they do, they're expected to make an $8,000–$12,000/month decision using:

  • glossy brochures
  • outdated listings
  • and stock photos that all look the same

That didn't sit right with me.

I'm Josh Fialkoff.

When my 75-year-old mother needed assisted living and then memory care, I went through the process myself—touring facilities, comparing options, and ultimately placing her in three different communities.

Each move taught me something new:

  • what questions actually matter
  • what red flags to look for
  • and how little real, usable data families are given

At the same time, I realized something frustrating:

There is too much information—and not enough truth.

The Problem Assistedly.ai Solves

Today, families—especially Gen X—are being asked to navigate this decision.

Gen X is:

  • the most internet-savvy generation
  • now responsible for making care decisions
  • for Baby Boomers—the largest and wealthiest generation ever to enter assisted living

And yet:

  • the data is fragmented
  • the marketing is polished but incomplete
  • and the stakes are incredibly high

You shouldn't have to "figure it out" on your own.

What Makes This Different

Assistedly.ai replaces guesswork with verifiable data.

Instead of relying on marketing claims, we use:

  • state-reported operational data
  • staffing and care indicators
  • move-out and care escalation trends

Then we translate that into:

  • clear insights
  • simple explanations
  • and practical next steps

No paid placements.

No hidden rankings.

No sales pressure.

Our Role

This is not a directory.

Assistedly.ai is also not a referral agency.

It's a consumer advocate platform designed to help families:

  • understand real differences between facilities
  • identify potential risks
  • prepare for tours with the right questions
  • make confident, informed decisions

Built for Real Families

This platform is designed for people who:

  • have never done this before
  • don't trust what they're seeing online
  • and want clarity, not marketing

If that's you—you're in the right place.

What You Can Expect

  • Transparent data (with sources)
  • Plain-English explanations
  • Honest limitations when data is incomplete
  • Tools that help you decide—not persuade you

The Bottom Line

This is a life decision—not a search result.

You deserve better than stock photos and sales pitches.

You deserve real information you can trust.

Please send me any questions or concerns you have. I want your feedback to make Assistedly.ai the most-useful resource for all of us in this situation.
